Before making reservations for a Frenchie Friendly date night there are a few things to consider. First and foremost, double check to make sure the restaurant is pet friendly. If you have a service French Bulldog at your side, then no worries! Typically, restaurants do allow your pet on the patio, but better safe than sorry.
Feed Your Frenchie
Feed your Frenchie before going out. A full tummy will suppress any under the table cravings and begging. Your Frenchie’s behavior plays a big part in your outing. Socializing them comes into play when going out for a bite. You don’t want to disturb other guests at the restaurant and obviously yourself have a pleasant time without constantly calming down your pup.
Get a good walk in
A brisk walk to the restaurant is another thought. French Bulldogs don’t need a lot of exercise or play time to tire out. Walking them for a few blocks to grab a bite are the perfect way to ensure they are well behaved and by your side.
Hydration is key
Don’t forget to hydrate. Packing a small water bowl for your Frenchie is a smart move. Some restaurants will provide a cup or even have bowls for dogs, but best not to take those chances. I personally don’t like when my Frenchie drinks out of a community bowl. You can’t be too sure of other pups heath, so it’s best to bring your own.
